CONTRACT CATERER made amends for a narrow defeat at Leicester last month when landing the odds at Catterick this afternoon in emphatic style for owners ABM Catering Limited.

Given a positive front-running ride by Michael Fenton (Paul Eddery who rode the colt at Leicester was banned today), the 2yo son of Azamour never looked in any danger as he won by four lengths eased down.

Backed down from a morning 10/11 to an on course 2/5, the winner over seven furlongs won like a "good" thing should and there is plenty more to come from a horse who is bred to get a mile and a half.

Having had three seconds in our last nine runs it was good to be back in the winner's spot. This was Pat's third individual juvenile winner from just five runners this season while the 2yo wins/runs is a healthy 19%.

The runners from Musk Hill are continuing to run well with eight of our last eleven runners finishing in the money.

While luck probably evens itself out during the course of a season, we have been on the wrong end of a couple of close finishes recently.

AERODYNAMIC was also in the prize money after finishing sixth in the Chesham, following Hearts Of Fire's fifth in the Windsor Castle.

The Oratorio colt did not pick up as expected but the race may have come a little soon after his win at Nottingham just nine days previously.
